SPORTS WRITING

My introduction to sports media started with journalism. I love the process of applying my creativity to my writing. My role as a sports journalist has allowed me to be present at press conferences and media scrums and to be around some of the nation’s top collegiate athletes. Not only has my experience in journalism developed my interviewing and writing skills, but it has also helped me become a better commentator.
I am currently a freelance writer for Oregon Ducks On SI. In this role, I write daily articles about all things Oregon athletics, with a primary focus on Ducks Football.
I started my journey as a sports writer with The Daily Emerald. At The Daily Emerald, I was the primary beat writer for Oregon softball, Oregon women’s soccer and Oregon volleyball. I also covered Oregon men’s and women’s basketball and football, writing over 200 articles for the publication.
In addition to these roles, I wrote for a student sports and outdoor magazine called Ascend, I'm the writing coordinator at KWVA Radio and have my own SubStack called Cranium Sports. With these positions, I have learned more about working with other writers and how to edit other people’s writing.
